The Longest Yarn II: Britain at War - Blackburn Cathedral
This striking, 80m exhibition of intricate knitted and crocheted panels depicts life in Britain between the declaration of war in Sept 1939 to VE Day in May 1945.
To be held at the Blackburn Cathedral on Wednesday 7 January to Saturday 7 February 2026
Hundreds of volunteer knitters from across the UK have created a stunning set of 80 individual knitted panels, each depicting a scene of Britain during wartime. Seen by hundreds of thousands already, this is the first time it has been displayed in the North of England.
