New Cathedral Honorary Canons

We are looking forward as a Diocese to 14 new Honorary Canons being installed to serve Blackburn Cathedral at services in February and March.

A photographer will attend each Cathedral service to capture group pictures. Please note we will do a joint story on all three services (which take place on February 8, March 1 and March 8) together, immediately following the last of those services. The coverage will also include a piece in the first edition of Parish Update following March 8.

Writing to parishes recently, Bishop Philip said: "I am delighted at these appointments. A canonry carries a function within the governance of the Cathedral. It is important therefore to balance backgrounds, traditions and stages of ministry so that the Cathedral can hear from many voices."
