Community Hub Worker

We are seeking a person with the calling and expertise in community engagement. The CHW will work with the Priest in Charge, PCC and congregation of St Silas Church to create a cohesive strategy for St Silas’ to be a Christian presence within a diverse community by engaging and meeting the needs of its community through practical engagement.

The Community Hub Worker will work with the PCC to identify strategies, that will build upon the church’s current outreach and identify innovative responses to community needs.

Organist and Choir Leader

St Chad's Church, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7BA

St Chad’s Church is seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Organist and Choir Leader to play for our worship at the 10am Sunday services and on special feast days throughout the year. We are looking for someone who brings musical excellence and joy to worship; enjoys working collaboratively with clergy and congregarion; can help encourage a church-wide confidence in singing and music; and can train, nurture and develop our friendly choir.

We have a two-manual pipe organ with pedal board and a Roland digital piano. This is a wonderful opportunity for a musician who loves church music, values community, and wants to help shape and inspire our worship life.

St Silas Church, Blackburn serves the Billinge, Beardwood, Revidge and Wensley Fold area.  Our church is an iconic Grade II* building located in the northwest of Blackburn town centre with a diverse community of British and non-British heritage living alongside each other. Our worship ranges from the traditional Book of Common Prayer, Common Worship and informal worship services. We aim to provide a safe place where people are welcomed and valued.

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and secretarial support and assistance to both the Priest in Charge and the church in close cooperation with the Priest in Charge, wardens and employees.
