Building bridges with leather and willow at annual Vicars v Imams cricket match
Vicars and Imams from across Lancashire headed to the crease once again last week for another interfaith cricketing encounter.
The match was the latest in an annual series stretching back many years now.
A side from Blackburn Diocese took on another from Lancashire Council of Mosques at Padiham Cricket Club.
With a rich heritage of enjoyable moments, the match captures the imagination every year it takes place.
There has been local, regional and - more recently - even national media and national church press coverage of the event.
This year, Captain of our Diocesan side, Father Jordan McDermott, posted about the game to his popular accounts on TikTok and Facebook, speaking about how it helps to 'build bridges across communities'.
This move led to further coverage in The Daily Telegraph, amongst others.
Meanwhile, next Monday August 24, you can also tune into BBC Radio Lancashire to hear more.
As part of presenter Raees Khan's programme Father Jordan, pictured, will be talking about the annual match as part the 'big interview' segment between 8 and 9pm.
