It's not long now until our huge Centenary Parish Mission Weekend from September 11-13.
Our parishes across Lancashire are preparing for a huge variety of events across the three days.
All should be welcome - especially those people don't currently go to church.
Please be encouraging involvement in as many ways as you can and underpin everything with prayer.
Director of Mission for the Diocese, Rev. Steve Haskett, said: "It's going to a fantastic weekend and we are really excited for what God is going to do across Lancashire. It's vitally important as we approach the weekend that we remember to PRAY first and then - crucially - INVITE people to come.
"No matter what event you are holding let's make sure people have fun and enjoy themselves and that they also have chance to hear the Gospel message.
"Spread the word about what you are doing in any way you can - from the more traditional, like leaflet drops to posts on your social media channels.
"Please also ensure you post all your mission weekend events onto your parish 'A Church Near You' page as well on the www.achurchnearyou.com website."
For logistical reasons we know some parishes are holding their events near to but not actually on the official weekend but it's amazing to hear about all the many events happening across the Diocese for our centenary mission together.
· Keep sharing them with us on socials and by emailing janet.sanderson@blackburn.anglican.org or communicate@blackburn.anglican.org
· If posting to social media about your events - before or during the mission, please remember to tag the Diocesan accounts for reposts.
· And if you haven't yet planned your event for the mission weekend you will find plenty of advice and help here on the Diocesan website - including advice for events aimed at children and young people as well as adults.
