Blackburn Cathedral searches for new choristers - great opportunities!
Blackburn Cathedral has fresh opportunities for new choristers.
Being a chorister at the Cathedral is a free, high-quality musical training. Choristers receive professional coaching in singing, music reading, and performance, without tuition fees.
There are no auditions, and no experience is needed, and children start in years 3 and 4.
This opportunity is open to all youngsters.
Choristers sing in the Cathedral's regular services, concerts and special events, as well as on major national broadcasts and recordings.
Choristers have recently appeared on BBC1 and Radio 3, both live.
Meanwhile, choristers from the cathedral featured on the Bishop's Christmas message video (pictured) in 2025.
The Cathedral also has junior choral scholars and opportunities to continue singing into the teenage years, and many of our country's best musicians across many genres have started life as Cathedral Choristers.
