Visitation Services are nearly complete across the Diocese.
Every year parishioners elect Churchwardens to represent them and to work with their parish priest in enabling Christian mission and ministry in their parish.
At the Visitations wardens are sworn in as officers of the Diocesan Bishop by the Archdeacon or Assistant Archdeacon. More information here.
Across June there have been seven visitations, with the last one taking place next week on June 25 (Wednesday) for Whalley Deanery at Christ Church, Chatburn. Three were organised in Lancaster Archdeaconry and four in Blackburn Archdeaconry.
Offerings this year at the Visitations will support two charities: Christians Against Poverty and Olive Branch Food Bank.
If you have never attended a Visitation and are interested to see what happens at one, then here is a livestream recording of the service at Christ Church Thornton for Blackpool, Kirkham and Poulton Deaneries and led by Archdeacon David.
