Wednesday 5 April

Blackburn Chamber Choir - Blackburn Cathedral

For decades people have studied the deeply moving Gerard Manley Hopkins poems at school and have memories of them, combining Hopkins' Christian spirituality with his love of nature.

One of Lancashire’s leading chamber choirs, Blackburn Chamber Choir, based at Blackburn Cathedral, is performing musical settings of some of Hopkins’ well-loved poems alongside readings of his works and other linked pieces.

The events take the name of one of Hopkins' most well-known poems ‘God’s Grandeur’ and are on Saturday 1 April at Stonyhurst College, and on Wednesday 5 April at Blackburn Cathedral, both starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £12 for the Stonyhurst College concert and £15 and £10 for the Blackburn Cathedral concert.  Children under 18 are free.  They are available at blackburnchamberchoir.org
