Free online hearing loss awareness events this autumn

Open Ears, the Christian charity supporting churches and individuals affected by hearing loss, has a programme of free online events this autumn designed to help churches become more hearing loss aware and inclusive.

The programme includes two free Introduction to Hearing Loss training sessions led by author, speaker and Open Ears Trustee, Emily Owen, together with a special online event featuring Breeze Translate, demonstrating live captioning and translation technology that can help churches remove communication barriers.

About Emily Owen

Key dates:

Monday 7 September 2026 at 1:00pm – Introduction to Hearing Loss (Daytime Zoom)
Thursday 17 September 2026 at 7:00pm – Breeze Translate: live captioning and translation technology (Evening Zoom)
Monday 2 November 2026 at 7:00pm – Introduction to Hearing Loss (Evening Zoom)

With more than 2 million people in the UK living with hearing loss, these free sessions provide a valuable opportunity for churches to understand hearing loss better and discover practical ways to make their services and activities more accessible.
