Date: Friday 10 October 2025
Time: 7pm-9pm
Venue: Blackburn Cathedral
The Lord’s Prayer not only guides our prayers but also influences how we live our daily lives.
Rt Rev Philip North, Bishop of Blackburn, invites everyone in the Diocese to attend this FREE Faith in the North event at Blackburn Cathedral, which will include a compelling teaching session, music and a thought-provoking film.
There will also be a Q and A session and the opportunity for reflection and discussion.
Book tickets for the free evening via the Cathedral website here (scroll to bottom of page). It's ticketed but only to help the organisers prepare for the numbers attending.
The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, will deliver the teaching session on the topic of 'Praying by heart' and it doesn’t matter if you know the Lord's Prayer well or are exploring its significance for the first time, this event is open to all!
It is part of a wider series of events taking place across Dioceses in the North of England exploring the importance and relevance of the Lord’s Prayer to our world today, encouraging people to pray and live by this as part of their missionary discipleship.
The aim is to foster deeper connections with the Christian faith across the north and renew the Church’s missionary purpose to share God’s love with all.
As well as teaching people how to say the Lord’s Prayer and how it can show us a pattern for living, it is hoped that many people will come to a greater understanding of the Lord’s Prayer and see their lives shaped by the vision it presents.
