For clergy in need of refreshment and rest, there will be a Clergy Retreat at Whalley Abbey in July, led by John-Francis Friendship.
John is a priest, spiritual director and author of highly acclaimed books including 'Enfolded in Christ: the inner life of a priest' on which the retreat is based.
There will be retreat addresses and a Eucharist each day as well as the Offices and shared silent prayer – but nothing is compulsory.
The retreat takes place from Monday 21 July at 5pm to Thursday 24 July at 2pm at our Centre for Christian Discipleship and Prayer at Whalley Abbey.
There are many comfortable spaces indoors, beautiful gardens and monastic heritage surrounding the house and wonderful opportunities for venturing further on walks; not forgetting the generous hospitality of the retreat house.
