St Andrew's Church Hall
Liverpool Road

PR4 5AA

Friday 3 November: 2pm-4.30pm
Saturday 4 November: 10am-4pm

The market will sell a wide range of Fairtrade goods including Christmas Cards and Advent Calendars, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate boxes, cookies, dried fruit, pasta sauce and chutney; crafts and gifts, carved wooden birds and small animals.

Products including olive wood cribs and crosses, olive oil, almonds and Medjoul dates; small stocking-fillers and a variety of other stalls.

Tea and coffee, cookies and chocolate bites will be available throughout the day and savoury pasties between 12 noon and 1.30pm.

The significance of Fairtrade is simple: it means that Fairtrade companies which purchase goods such as tea, coffee, cocoa and  bananas (i.e. produce mainly from tropical countries) pay a fair price to the producers who consequently receive a fair wage.

This contrasts strongly with the experience of the majority of tropical producers who are exploited by international companies and consequently remain in poverty, often unable to afford education, health-care or adequate food for their families.
