Transforming Communities - Being Witnesses through words and deeds

How can your church be witnesses through words and deeds and help to transform its community? 

Organised by the Parish Mission Support Department and Together Lancashire, this evening will offer some advice about how you can get to know the needs of your local community as well as thinking about a rhythm of mission for your parish.  The same format is taking place on 5 dates and 5 different places to help as many as possible to attend .

Refreshments will be available from 7.00pm and the evenings will start at 7.30pm. Come as a group from your parish or team so that you can discuss together and return ready to put the suggestions into action.  Please book using the appropriate link below. so that we can plan accordingly.

Sports Ministry Morning 

Do you play sport? Do you coach sport? Do you watch sport? Do you use sport as part of your church outreach?  Have you ever considered how your sporting life and your Christian life connect? 

Folloing teh sucessful launch event earleir in the year, you are now invited to come along to our Sports Ministry Morning at St Cuthbert’s Fulwood on Saturday 21st October 2017.

The morning will include a keynote address from Rob Taylor, National Sport Ambassador, as well as series of workshops.  Tea and coffee will be available and there will a Marketplace with information and advice from different organisations who can help you with your own Sports Ministry.

The outline of the day is as follows:

  • 9.30am - Arrive, refreshments available and demonstration of Walking Football
  • 10.00am - Keynote Address followed by questions– Rob Taylor, National Sport Ambassador
  • 10.30am - Marketplace open and brews available
  • 10.40am - Demonstration of Walking Football
  • 11.00am - Workshops (Choice of 4 workshops or time to chat in the Marketplace)
  • 11.40am - Marketplace open and brews available
  • 11.50am - Workshops (Choice of 4 workshops or time to chat in the Marketplace)
  • 12.30am - Marketplace open and brews available before the event comes to an end at 12.45pm

The workshop options are below. When booking, we ask that you indicate the ones you expect to attend so that we can allocate the rooms appropriately to suit the numbers

Brothers in Arms

Following a successful sell out week at Edinburgh Fringe with their WW2 production Home Front - Front Line, the team are now presenting Brothers in Arms, their multimedia presentation about the lives of the Chavasse Twins in WW1 and how their faith impacted their service. 

The event, created to be put on in local churches so that people can bring along their non-Christian friends, families, neighbours and work colleagues, will be at the venues below during October and November before a likely visit to Edinburgh Fringe in August 2018.
