Growing Leaders events 2019


Ever wondered about becoming a Reader?  Come to one of our Reader vocations evenings to explore what it means to be a Reader in today’s church.

On Saturday February 2nd from 10-4pm at Whalley Abbey, we are running a day for anyone thinking about exploring a possible vocation to licenced lay or ordained ministry.  There will be food, fun and freedom to talk about who we are and what God might be calling us to.

We are running our popular Occasional Preachers course on Saturday February 2nd and March 2nd & 23rd, in Christ Church Community Hall, Fulwood, Preston, 9.30am-4pm. The course is ideal for those who are just starting out and those who would like to further develop their preaching gifts.   More information and A4 printable posters available here or e-mail training@blackburn.anglican.org 

We are also offering a one-day training course for lay people leading small groups in St James’ Clitheroe 9am-4pm on Saturday 9th February – ideal for Lent courses, discussion groups linked with the Bishop’s Bible Challenge or Generosity Gift and Grace, or any other Bible Study or discussion groups.  Other dates are available on request.  More information and A4 printable posters available here or e-mail training@blackburn.anglican.org 

In addition to the general Vocations Explorer Day in February, we are also offering one that is just for women.  On Saturday March 23rd  from 10am-4pm in Whalley Abbey we are offering a day for women thinking about exploring a possible vocation to licenced lay or ordained ministry.  It will be a safe space to dare to dream about God’s call on your life.  More information and A4 printable posters available here or e-mail training@blackburn.anglican.org
