The Central Services Team exists to serve our parishes and clergy.
One of the primary duties of the Head of Central Services is that of Secretary to the Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committee. They are responsible for all Pastoral Schemes and Orders, from the drafting of initial proposals to their completion and ensuring that the correct procedures and timescales are followed. They also have responsibility for the closed churches and am actively involved in finding alternative use for such buildings.
The Head of Central Services is the Presiding Officer for both Diocesan and General Synod elections, responsible for ensuring that information is sent out appropriately, timetables are followed and the elections carried out.
The team is tasked with the management of the day to day running of the IT function within the Board of Finance. This includes liaising with external support, but also being proactively involved in troubleshooting and carrying out some staff training; shared responsibility for the maintenance of the office building and ensure that utility and other contracts are set up, maintained and reviewed.
The Disocesan Advisory Committee Secretary, Senior Administrator (responsible for the switchboard and meetings rooms at Clayton House) and the two Archdeacon's personal assistants are part of the team.
