Welcome banners now available to order for your church

Fantastic new welcome banners for your church are available to view before ordering at the ‘Visitation Services’, currently taking place across Lancashire.

The services are centred on the theme of welcome and hospitality and are led by the Archdeacons of Blackburn and Lancaster.

An important part of The Church of England in Lancashire’s annual calendar of events, the Visitation Services include the official admittance to office of Churchwardens for the coming year.
For more on the ongoing Archdeacons' Visitations, including the remaining service dates, click this link.
As well as giving churchwardens important legal and practical advice on managing their parish church effectively, this year’s bumper edition of AVN (with 16 A4 pages, four more than usual) will also feature further advice about welcome and hospitality as well as the latest news about the Diocesan Vision, ‘Healthy Churches Transforming Communities’.

The importance of welcome was felt to be particularly appropriate as the theme this year because all churches in the Diocese are being encouraged to remain open as much as possible to welcome people over the summer, as part of the global ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer initiative led by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.

Meanwhile, a helpful toolkit to advise and help with opening your church can be found by here on the Diocesan website.

We have also commissioned special branded welcome banners (vinyl ones for outside use and pop-up stand banners for inside) that can be obtained at a subsidized price - see the picture on this page. The vinyl banners are £45 and the pop-up stand banners are just £99. Email to order one, or more than one, of the banners.

(Please note, the vinyl banner price is a revised, lower price than was previously advertised. The pop-up banner price remains unchanged. Anyone who ordered a vinyl banner at a higher price will be refunded the difference. Arrangements for refunds have already been made.)

You don't have to attend the Visitation Services to order either banner. If you like the look of them after reading this story, please just email Karen with your order.

They can be used during Thy Kingdom Come and at other times of the year when you want to have your church open as well.
