Vocations Co-Ordinator -
Revd. Catherine Braithwaite
Email:
vocation@blackburn.anglican.org

A vocation is a ‘calling’ from God, unique to each person - no two vocations are the same. A vocation is something particular that God is asking us to do with and in our lives and which only we can fulfil.

Cardinal Newman put it this way:
“God has created me to do him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another”

HAVE YOU THOUGHT THAT GOD MIGHT BE CALLING YOU?

Ministry offers many different opportunities to many different people from many different walks of life. If you feel called to explore this further please contact your vicar or our Vocations Co-ordinator Cath Braithwaite - vocation@blackburn.anglican.org

There are many forms of ministry, as well as ordained ministry, paid or not – (if not that’s Self Supporting Ministry) Deacons and Priests, there are Lay Readers, Pioneer Ministry - a whole variety, lay and ordained - click here for our local Mission Shaped Ministry course, Church Army and many more.

God calls ordinary people to a variety of ministries. To see a list of those in training please click here. Please pray for those on this list as they continue on their journey. To see a list of those who are being ordained Deacon and Priest in July 2017 please click here. Please pray for those on this list as they go forward.

We have been developing a series of videos called Vocations in Lancashire to give an insight into the different vocations and forms of ministry available. They are all available on our YouTube channel as well as being listed below.
