The Occasional Preachers' Course has now been run several times in Blackburn Diocese and is extremely popular. It has been adapted from material which has been very kindly shared with us by Guildford Diocese. The feedback from those who have completed the course and others in their churches has been extremely positive.
We aim to equip those who already preach occasionally, and those who may be asked to do so, to do so in ways that honour God and God's Word and help to build up the Body of Christ in their contexts. The course is very practical and 'hands-on' and, if the participant's incumbent and PCC support them, entitles those taking part to be 'Occasional Preachers'.
We will be running the course again at least twice next year, in January-March 2017 in Accrington and April-June 2017 in Penwortham. We may run it more often if there is sufficient demand. Please see below for a link to the flyer for more information.
If you are interested in taking part, please complete the application form below and send it to Mandy Stanton at email@example.com. If a number of people from your church would like to take part and you would be willing to host the course in your church buildings, please contact us.
