Thy Kingdom Come Beacon Event Blackburn Cathedral 24th May at 7.30pm

Everyone is invited to come along to the prayer event at Blackburn Cathedral at 7.30pm on Wednesday 24th May 2017, the eve of Thy Kingdom Come.

Bishop Philip will be leading the evening which will include opportunities for prayer, worship and to hear from Roy Crowne, the HOPE Together Executive Director and one of the founders of HOPE, whose vision is a growing church, showing Jesus' love and telling the Jesus story at the heart of every community.

Please plan to come individually, as a family, as a church so that we can pray together and then go back to our communities to continue to pray during this period.

To help us plan, please use the booking link here to give an indication of how many will be coming in your group.

Church Leaders' Gatherings with Roy Crowne from Hope - Wednesday 24th May morning or afternoon

An opportunity for a morning or afternoon with Roy Crowne for clergy, wardens, PCC members, readers and anyone else interested in hearing how HOPE can help your church reach out to your community.

Roy Crowne will be the speaker at these Leaders' Gatherings. He is the HOPE Together Executive Director and one of the founders of HOPE. The vision for HOPE is a growing church, showing Jesus’ love and telling the Jesus story at the heart of every community. Being part of HOPE 2018 means being intentional about inviting people to become followers of Jesus. These gatherings will be an opportunity to meet with fellow clergy, hear from Roy and talk together about how you might reach out to your communities.

To help as many people as possible to take part, there are two opportunities to come and hear from Roy. If you'd like to join us, please use the booking link below to book your place on whichever is the most convenient.

Morning Leaders'Gathering: Garstang St Thomas 10.00am until 12.00noon

Church Planting Conference 13th - 15th June 2017

To help with our Vision intention of planting or renewing 50 new strategic congregations by 2026, we are organising a conference for those who are already involved in creating Fresh Expressions of Church or Church Planting, or those who are thinking about it.  We will spend time together looking at different aspects including building teams and how to help the Fresh Expression or Church Plant grow to maturity.  If you are interested, and can get a team or two or three to come along and work through your ideas together, please email siobhan.trickett@blackburn.anglican.org for more information.

Church Planting Day - 16th September 2017

On 16th September 2017, we are also planning a day thinking about Church Planting.  More details will be sent later, but please make a note of the date now if you are interested in coming to this.

Brothers in Arms and Home Front - Front Line

Many of you have seen Brothers in Arms, our multi media presentation about the lives of the Chavasse Twins in WW1 and how their faith impacted their service.  Some of you may know that last year a second presentation was produced – Home Front – Front Line.  Featuring drama, film, music, images and sound, Home Front - Front Line tells the story of WW2 through the lives of a young couple; Lizzie a young woman serving on the home front with the Women’s Land Army and Tom serving on the front line with the army.  Based on historical events, Home Front - Front Line is an inspiring story of love, commitment, separation, conflict and faith.
Both presentations are intended to be put on in local churches so that people can bring along their non-Christian friends, families and work colleagues.
Available dates in 2017 are as follows:

  • Home Front - Front Line 19th June to 30th June
  • Brothers in Arms 16th October to 22nd October
  • Brothers in Arms 14th and 16th November

If you are interested in hosting the production during one of these periods and your church or a group of churches will be able to invite people along, then please get in touch with siobhan.trickett@blackburn.anglican.org for more information.
