Rev Tony Lacy from Living Waters Church in Chorley had the initial vision for Street Pastors early in 2009. We began to make enquiries and talk about the possibility of Street Pastors in the Chorley area. Following that in February an invite was handed out to all the local church Ministers and Pastors to a Saturday morning breakfast. Ian Humphries the area coordinator for Street Pastors from Nelson joined us to share in more detail about the work and speak to the local churches.

Following the success of the breakfast we collected names of 28 keen volunteers from around four Churches. We commenced the training in May. We have had the full support of the police, council and statutory bodies in Chorley who are more than happy to be partnering with us.
