Social Responsibility

All we do will seek to reflect the Kingdom values of Christ our Lord

We seek to stimulate, develop and sustain Christian Social Action across the Diocese

We do this by working in partnership with all people through the parish structures and beyond – liaising and working with people from all sectors of the community

We facilitate projects:

  • Supporting Family Life
  • Enabling ex-prisoners to gain meaningful employment and/or training
  • Improving the health of ex-prisoners and their families
  • Supporting young children and their families through their early years, especially male carers
  • Supporting families with children having difficulties in school
  • Running Child Contact meetings for separating / divorced parents
  • Running a family centre in Nelson

In addition we have groups which investigate and stimulate action in:

  • Racial Justice and Cohesion
  • Disability, Inclusion and Sensory Deprivation
  • Ecology and the Environment
  • World Development (including Fairtrade)
  • Substance abuse
  • Partnership working
  • Working in multi-faith areas

We are always looking for people who are committed to Christian Social Action and would welcome both volunteers and ideas for other topics which you may think should be looked at
