World Development

Under the auspices of the Board for Social Responsibility, the diocesan World Development Group encourages and helps people throughout the Diocese to foster sustainable economic development in the underdeveloped world abroad.

Amongst other things, the Group

  • promotes fair trade, especially in parish churches and church schools;
  • organises the Bishop's annual Harvest Appeals to parishes and schools - appeals which support a selection of worthwhile development projects in poor countries overseas;
  • prompts appropriate campaigning on matters affecting world development.

The Group comprises a handful of clerical and layvolunteersworking at minimalexpense. Newmembers are always welcome.

Contact the Group's Chairman (Revd Frank Kendall - 01772 748021, fandbkendall@52kingsway.co.uk)

or the Group's Secretary (Mr Arton Medd - 01524 64730, arton.medd@btinternet.com)
