Health & Healing Ministry

The Ministry of Healing is Christ’s Ministry

Healing and wholeness matters for everyone and the healing ministry is one of the greatest opportunities the Church has today for sharing the Gospel.

Bishop Nicholas serves as the House of Bishops’ Adviser on Healing Ministry as well as being the Warden of the Guild of St Raphael. He has appointed Health and Healing Advisers to encourage and develop the ministry of healing within the Blackburn Diocese. They are available as a resource to anyone seeking further information, support or advice

The Bishop’s Advisers are happy to visit parishes or deaneries to talk about healing ministry. If you are interested in beginning a healing service in your parish, you may also find it helpful to contact a parish in your area which already offers healing ministry. You will find details in the resources handbook

Resources for Christian Healing Ministry

A handbook of resources has been produced to encourage and support healing ministry throughout the diocese. You can access it here and are welcome to download and print out copies:

2010 Blackburn Diocese Resources for Christian Healing Ministry (updated 2011)

This on-line handbook is updated from time to time as new information comes in, particularly in relation to parishes within the Blackburn Diocese which offer Healing Ministry. If you are aware of any further necessary additions, amendments or corrections please contact Revd Barbara Jones on 01524 65598 or 123bcj@gmail.com
