Fundraising is exciting and it can even be fun but it often isn’t. It is hard work and time consuming and there is a lot of competition out there. However, success is sweet especially when you see the finished article - your project up and running and meeting the needs of your community or your newly refurbished building lovingly reordered and being used to its full potential.
Fundraising is an essential part of any project. Getting the money to do what you want to do can take a lot of time and hard work but with planning and effort the chances are that you will be able to carry out successful fundraising allowing you to get on with the work you want to do.
It was Henry Nouwen who said “Fundraising is proclaiming what you believe in and proclaiming it in such a way as to offer others the opportunity to participate in your vision”.
