Historical Aspects of the Parish

 

Parish Crests

Left    The crest of the Diocese of Blackburn with the keys of St Peter and the red rose of Lancashire.

Right    The broken chains which symbolise St Leonard's work to free those unjustly imprisoned. 

 

The original church, at Old Langho one mile North West of Langho, was reputedly built using stones from Whalley Abbey.

  St Leonard's at Old Langho, built 1557.

A short history of the Parish was written some years ago.
