Travel to York Minster for Bishop Nicholas' consecration on 2 March
Despite strenuous efforts it has not been possible to organise extra train transport. After a considerable delay, Arriva Trains have had to advise that "there will be no additional rolling stock available." I am sorry about this, but travellers need to bear in mind that, with over 1,000 people travelling from the Diocese, there will be heavy pressure on rail travel.

`Evening of Prayer` on Saturday 28th February in Blackburn Cathedral from 7.00pm - 9.00pm led by the Archdeacon of Blackburn, Ven John Hawley.
This is a great opportunity for Christians from all churches across Lancashire to come to our Cathedral in Blackburn to pray for the Diocese, and our new Bishop - Nicholas Reade - who will be consecrated on 2 March in York Minster.
We will fill Blackburn Cathedral with prayer. The evening will comsist of 20 minute periods, interspersed with gentle worship songs and hymns. Each period will begin with an explanatory focus for prayer, and then either in groups or alone in the silence of the Jesus Chapel you will be able to spend 10-15 minutes in prayer. Then you will be drawn back together for the next period of prayer.
    I look forward to `praying alongside you`
